An Introductory Arboriculture course which may be beneficial for individuals preparing for the International Society of Arboriculture certification exam. This class provides an introduction to the science behind arboriculture for the working arborist, or for those who are interested in the field. Topics include basic plant biology, tree selection, installation, the tree-soil connection, pruning, nutrient management, diagnosis and integrated pest management.

It is recommended that the students purchase the ISA Certified Arborist Study Guide, 4th edition for the Arborist Certification Exam, but it is not required for this course. 

Learn to manufacture vaccines and other therapeutic products for the growing biotechnology industry in just 10 weeks - no degree or science background required. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared for entry-level roles at regional biomanufacturing companies with competitive wages. 

Classes will be online with in person lab days at Spokane Community College.

Students who choose either the Process Technician or Environmental Monitoring path will undergo an interview process before starting a paid internship (approximately 6-10 weeks, TBD) immediately after completing the program. Upon successful completion, they will transition into a full-time role.

Enroll in this course to explore Canva's powerful design tools! Anyone can do this; no graphic design background is needed. Through reading, tutorials, and interactive activities you will start small and build your Canva confidence. Modules are short and allow you to work at your own pace. Spokane Colleges supports parents who may choose home-based instruction for their children by offering a homeschool introductory course that fulfills one of the four ways to qualify in Washington: completing a qualifying course in home-based education at a postsecondary institution or a vocational-technical institute (RCW 28A.225.010 (4)(a-c). Our parent-qualifying course is designed to be an affordable, convenient, online, self-paced course taught by a homeschool parent who encourages parents just starting their journey. It will build your confidence and arm you with strategies to acquire resources for community connection, learning, assessment, and record-keeping. The course typically takes 5 to 9 hours to complete. A certificate is awarded upon completion.
