This 1-day course is for providers in long term care settings. Learners will obtain an introduction to mental disorders and gain basic communication skills. DSHS approved certificate upon successfully passing exam with an 80% or better. *ETP Eligible

Course Description: This 1-day course will help the caregiver discover how different types of dementia affect the elderly within the long-term care population. Students learn how to communicate effectively with dementia clients and their families, gain tools to recognize the signs/symptoms of dementia and delirium, how to respond effectively to challenging behaviors, and issues surrounding activities of daily living. DSHS approved certificate upon passing written exam with 80% or better.

Course Description: Obtain your HCA in 75 hours of on-ground training. Training will provide DSHS certifications in dementia care and mental health care. A 20 hour class to shape new, used, or recycled metal into hobby projects/yard art by using basic welding techniques. This class is for beginners/crafters, farmers, “retired and starting-a-part-time-out-of-the-garage” or even a “brush up class” opportunity for the established welders. Providing you some time and ability to have fun and make something cool using basic techniques! Students will design and provide materials for these projects. Students must furnish some supplies, clothing and safety equipment.

NOTE: The first night of class the instructor will give a safety orientation, along with a list of supplies the students will need. Students that miss the safety orientation cannot be admitted into the welding shop.

This program provides licensed cosmetologists, manicurists, estheticians, or barbers the 500 hours needed for the cosmetology instructor's examination issued by the Washington State Board of Cosmetology. Under the supervision of a licensed cosmetology instructor, trainee students receive training in instructional methods and clinical practice assisting students in all phases of cosmetology. This class will show you how YOU could begin using your speaking voice for commercials, films, videos and more! In this class, you will learn about a unique, outside the box way to cash in on a lucrative full or part-time career. Instructor Lisa Foster has voiced commercials for dozens of businesses and is a well-known radio personality in the Seattle broadcast market. She has been coaching and instructing beginning voice over talents for 10 plus years.

Learn to operate a tractor-trailer during classroom instruction and on-the-road training prepare students for the CDL Class A written and driving tests, and meet all State of Washington entry-level requirements for the trucking industry. This program meets the 160-hour Washington State requirement. Through classes and on-the-road practice, you’ll learn to safely drive Class A combination vehicles, with additional study in airbrakes. Pickleball, a paddle sport mixing elements of tennis and Ping-Pong, is one of the world's fastest-growing sports! Learn or improve your Pickleball skills in this exciting course.

Step and Sculpt combines aerobic fitness and body conditioning in the same class session. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun! Participants will engage in aerobic routines set to music using a step platform. Cardio movements may also be performed as a low-impact floor routine without the step. Students will use handheld weights, exertubes, fit-balls, weighted bars, and mats to participate in resistance training exercise activities. Equipment used in class will be provided, however, students may bring their own mat/yoga mat if they wish. Warm-up, cool down, and stretching will also be included during class time.

Students learn basic skills and techniques and participate in kickboxing sport-specific activities. The emphasis of this fitness class will be on the improvement of balance, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular conditioning. This course is an introduction to the general principles of dog psychology with specific emphasis on training of dogs for personal companion as well as public service use. This course will focus primarily on the skills needed for a dog and handler to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and function effectively in public spaces. This course is recommended for individuals interested in veterinary assisting, humane society careers, commercial/personal dog training, or working with therapy or service dogs. This is also an excellent starter course for dog lovers and owners who simply want to enrich their knowledge. Dog ownership or in-person dog handling is not required to participate in this course.

What to Expect: In-person class meetings with a guest speaker once per week for an hour - online option available for those out of town or not able to make it in-person. All other course work is online. Please do not bring dogs with you to class. This course goes over the basics to understand techniques that you can use to train and better understand your dog. This is not an in-person dog training course. 

The class is designed to provide strength training programs to help participants burn fat and boost their metabolism. Various body conditioning exercises will be used to increase muscle strength and bone mineral density, help prevent injury, and enhance physical function in daily living activities.

The Management Training Program is an 11-week, custom-built course with curriculum that fosters professional development for employees to grow into a management or leadership role within a company. This program includes micro-credentials that will be awarded upon completion of each section. Course topics include: MS Suite Basics, Basic Business Math/Accounting, Human Relations, Interpersonal Communication, Business Communication, Principles of Management, Self-Care, Professionalism, Leading Teams, and Operations Management.
