Arboriculture

An Introductory Arboriculture course which may be beneficial for individuals preparing for the International Society of Arboriculture certification exam. This class provides an introduction to the science behind arboriculture for the working arborist, or for those who are interested in the field. Topics include basic plant biology, tree selection, installation, the tree-soil connection, pruning, nutrient management, diagnosis and integrated pest management.

It is recommended that the students purchase the ISA Certified Arborist Study Guide, 4th edition for the Arborist Certification Exam, but it is not required for this course.

Home Care Aide Certification

EKG Technician Program

Course Description: This in-depth course will train you to apply, monitor, and measure electrocardiography tests in a flexible, online learning environment. By course completion, you will be prepared to take and pass the Certified EKG Technician Specialist (CETS) certification exam, offered by American Education Certification Association and the Certified EKG Technician (CET), provided by the National Healthcareer Association.

This course offers enrollment with a voucher for either the CETS certification exam or the CET certification exam. The voucher is prepaid access to sit for the certifying exam upon eligibility.

Disclaimer: To qualify for the externship applications process, students must successfully complete the online course content and have account balances up to date (at a minimum). Tai Chi: Continuing

Classes for continuing and advancing Tai Chi students will be taught by Master Jim in nine 90-minute Zoom classes.  The class will cover the 54 movement Choy Short Form and the traditional 108 Yang Long Form.  Each class will begin with a short (3-5 minute) prerecorded video introducing a concept from the Tai Chi Classics.  Questions, topics and movements will be solicited from registered students via email up to 2 days before class; these submittals will be organized and addressed by Master Jim.  In-person questions will be discussed as time allows.  You need not attend the live in-person class; each class will be recorded, and video links will be sent to all people who are registered.

Introduction to Biomanufacturing

Learn to manufacture vaccines and other therapeutic products for the growing biotechnology industry in just 10 weeks - no degree or science background required. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared for entry-level roles at regional biomanufacturing companies with competitive wages. ESL level 6. 

Through hands-on training, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed for entry-level technician roles in regional biomanufacturing companies. Two common career pathways include:

  • Manufacturing Process Technician – Operate and maintain equipment in sterile manufacturing areas while following procedures to ensure product quality. Starting wage is $22.98/hour.

  • Environmental Monitoring Technician – Monitor air and surface cleanliness in cleanroom environments to ensure safe production of injectable drug products. Starting wage is $19.26/hour.

Students who choose either the Process Technician or Environmental Monitoring path will undergo an interview process before starting a paid internship (approximately 6-10 weeks, TBD) immediately after completing the program. Upon successful completion, they will transition into a full-time role.

Commercial Truck Driver Training - CDL Class A

Learn to operate a tractor-trailer during classroom instruction and on-the-road training. This course prepares students for the CDL Class A written and driving tests, and meets all State of Washington entry-level requirements for the trucking industry. Cosmetology Instructor Trainee Program

This program provides licensed cosmetologists, manicurists, estheticians, or barbers the 500 hours needed for the cosmetology instructor's examination issued by the Washington State Board of Cosmetology. Under the supervision of a licensed cosmetology instructor, trainee students receive training in instructional methods and clinical practice in assisting students in all phases of cosmetology. Program fee inlcludes textbook, required kit, CIMA access, and testing and licensing fees. This class is 50% online, self-paced and 50% in-person with supervised teaching. Students may submit documented experience in lieu of some of the required 500 hours - for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).
