Summer Career Camps Information

Join Spokane Colleges for our Summer Career Camps. Students will explore different career options through fun and engaging camp activities. Camps include tours to relevant industries and local businesses. Campers will get to learn from leaders and educators who are experts in their field. Transportation to and from field trips and lunch will be included each day.

Camp Details

Public Works Camp

Dates: June 30-July 2

Join us for a behind-the-scenes adventure into the incredible infrastructure that keeps Spokane running. Campers will get an exclusive look at how a city operates through engaging field trips and hands-on activities. From the Spokane Courthouse to the Spokane Dam, students will explore how natural resources are managed and how water and energy systems support our daily lives. Campers will also dive into the world of public buildings, transportation networks, and utility systems—learning how roads are maintained, how clean water gets to our homes, and how waste is managed responsibly.

Baking Camp

Dates: July 7-July 9

Whisk, mix, and bake your way into the world of professional pastry arts! Our Baking summer career camp is a hands-on, creativity-packed experience designed for aspiring young bakers who want to explore the delicious side of culinary careers. In addition to time in the kitchen, campers will gain insight into real-world baking and pastry careers. They'll explore topics like kitchen safety, recipe development, teamwork in the culinary environment, and the business side of running a bakery or café.

Electronics Camp

Dates: July 14 - July 16

Are you ready for a comprehensive dive into the world of electronics and chips. We are not talking potato chips either, (although snacks will be provided) we mean computer chips. Students will get an inside look at what it takes to build computer chips and learn all about electronics using real-world examples and interactive activities. Camp includes tours to local businesses, time with faculty to hear about all things electronics, and hands-on projects to take home at the end of camp.

Conservation Camp

Dates: July 21-July 23

Step into the wild world of ecology, wildlife protection, and environmental stewardship at our Conservation summer camp! Designed for curious and nature-loving students, this immersive camp introduces participants to the science and skills behind conserving our planet’s most precious resources. Throughout the week, campers will explore local ecosystems, observe wildlife, and participate in hands-on activities! They’ll also learn about exciting environmental careers in wildlife biology, forestry, ecology, outdoor recreation, and environmental science.

Manufacturing and Engineering Camp

Dates: July 28-July 30

Get ready to design, build, and innovate! Our Manufacturing & Engineering summer camp introduces students to the exciting world of modern manufacturing, product design, and hands-on engineering. This camp is perfect for curious creators, problem-solvers, and future engineers who love to understand how things work—and enjoy making them even better. Campers will learn how everyday products are created—from initial concept sketches to prototypes and final builds—while developing skills in teamwork, innovation, and critical thinking. Along the way, they’ll also discover a variety of career paths in engineering, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and industrial technology.

Criminal Justice and Forensics Camp

Dates: August 4 - August 6

Step into the world of investigation, problem‑solving, and public safety with our Criminal Justice & Forensics summer camp! Designed for curious students interested in law enforcement, forensic science, and the justice system, this immersive camp blends hands‑on activities with real‑world learning to show how professionals solve crimes and keep communities safe. Throughout the camp, participants will explore the foundations of criminal justice while diving into the fascinating science of forensics. By the end of the week, students will walk away with a deeper understanding of forensic science, critical thinking skills, and an inside look at careers in criminal justice.

Dates: August 11-August 13
