Accounting with QuickBooks Online Suite

This suite of courses will teach you the fundamentals of accounting with QuickBooks Online. You'll learn the essentials of double-entry bookkeeping and managing the financial aspects of your small business quickly and efficiently using QuickBooks. Instructor moderated. 

Accounting Fundamentals: Whether you're a sole proprietor looking to manage your business finances or you simply want to gain an understanding of accounting basics for career advancement or for personal use, this course will give you a solid foundation in financial matters.

Accounting Fundamentals II: Gain a solid understanding of corporate accounting practices. You will learn key topics including as special journals, uncollectible accounts receivable, notes and interest, accrued revenue and expenses, dividends, retained earnings and more.

QuickBooks Online: Learn to use key features of QuickBooks Online and gain hands-on experience creating invoices, receipts, and statements, track payables, inventory, and receivables, generating reports, and more. You'll then progress into some of the more intermediate-level features of the QuickBooks Online program, from tracking product and service items and managing inventory to customizing sales forms. With this online version, you get all the advantages of computing in the cloud so that your accounting files will be available to you virtually anytime, anywhere.

Cosmetology Instructor Trainee Program

This program provides licensed cosmetologists, manicurists, estheticians, or barbers the 500 hours needed for the cosmetology instructor's examination issued by the Washington State Board of Cosmetology. Under the supervision of a licensed cosmetology instructor, trainee students receive training in instructional methods and clinical practice in assisting students in all phases of cosmetology. Program fee includes textbook, required kit, CIMA access, and testing and licensing fees. This class is 50% online, self-paced and 50% in-person with supervised teaching. Students may submit documented experience in lieu of some of the required 500 hours - for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).

Introduction To Homeschooling

Spokane Colleges supports parents who may choose home-based instruction for their children by offering a homeschool introductory course that fulfills one of the four ways to qualify in Washington: completing a qualifying course in home-based education at a postsecondary institution or a vocational-technical institute (RCW 28A.225.010 (4)(a-c). Our parent-qualifying course is designed to be an affordable, convenient, online, self-paced course taught by a homeschool parent who encourages parents just starting their journey. It will build your confidence and arm you with strategies to acquire resources for community connection, learning, assessment, and record-keeping. The course typically takes 5 to 9 hours to complete. A certificate is awarded upon completion.
