Spokane Men’s and Women’s cross country completed their 2019 season Monday at St. Martin’s University in Lacy Washington.
CCS women finish 2nd to Lane after winning the previous 6 conference titles. The Sasquatch were led by sophomore Jolene Whiteley who won the race by 54 seconds. Ashley Hauger finished 8th followed by Courtney Stark in 11th. Madison Elizondo and Lexi Dawson rounded out the scoring in 36th and 45th.
The men win their first title since 2015 and 25th overall dethroning defending champion Lane Community College. They recorded the third lowest score in conference history with 19 points. Johan Correa won the race and led his team to 5 of the top 6 places in the race. Johan Correa (1st), Christian Kuplac (3rd), Keanu Daos (4th), Giovanni Raskell (5th) and Casey Bennett (6th) followed by John Dorr (8th) gave the Sasquatch 5 All-American awards and 6 of the top 8 finishers. Coach Sean McLachlan was named the 2019 men's cross-country coach of the year.
