CCNA R & S: Introduction to Networks (Cisco I)

Begin preparing for a networking career with this introduction to how networks operate. This includes learning the architecture, structure, and functions needed to support the operations and priorities of Fortune 500 companies to small innovative retailers. You will even get the chance to configure a network yourself, such as a simple LAN (Local Area Network). After completing this course, you will have a working knowledge of routing, switching, network applications and protocols. This is the first course in a 4-course series designed to prepare you for entry-level networking jobs. No prerequisites required.

Cisco I introduces the architecture, structure, functions and components, and models of networking. Topics include network terminology, media, protocols, equipment, OSI and TCP models, basic router and switch configuration and LAN’s and IP Addressing. By taking this course and CISCO II, students will study topics aligned with the Cisco CCNET certification exam.

Coming this Spring:

CCNA R & S: Routing and Switching Essentials (Cisco II)

In Cisco II, students will learn and practice basic configuration and troubleshooting using Cisco routers and switches. Topics include static and dynamic routing, reading routing tables, VLANS, DHCP, NAT and device discovery, management and maintenance. By taking this course and CISCO I, students will study topics aligned with the Cisco CCENT certification exam. Prerequisite: CCNA R & S: Introduction to Networks (Cisco I) or equivalent knowledge highly recommended.

SCC has partnered with the Cisco Networking Academy for more than 20 years. We offer CCENT and CCNA Routing and Switching Certification training courses. With interactive Networking Academy curriculum and hands-on training in our Cisco Lab, the four CCNA courses will help you prepare for CCENT and/or CCNA Routing and Switching certification.
