Strategic planning timeline: 2010-11

Phase 1: October-December 2010

Identify planning assumptions; conduct initial SWOT analysis with key internal audiences; update and expand environmental scan; review internal data; determine additional data that needs to be collected; establish communication plan.

Phase 2: January-April 2011

Conduct internal and external focus groups; analyze internal and external data; examine best practices; conduct strategy session to share analysis of data and develop strategies around “here’s what, so what, now what”; develop potential strategies; conduct second strategy session to get feedback on potential strategies; begin drafting plan.

Phase 3: May-June 2011

Finalize plan; present to Board of Trustees for approval; conduct third strategy session to launch plan; begin operational plan implementation; and celebrate.
