Other Types of Learning

At Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS), there are other opportunities to learn, including internships, volunteering, service learning, International Peer Mentors, curricular practical training (CPT), or optional practical training (OPT).

Did you know that service learning at CCS is an important part of our programs?  Did you know that CCS was the only community college in Washington State to be named to the 2012 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

Students can be placed in various locations (e.g., schools, hospitals, businesses, government offices, and volunteer agencies), and can interact with Americans concerning current and important issues of the day on a regular basis.  All CCS students have the opportunity to make a difference and to participate in CCS-supervised and managed service-learning projects.

We take service learning seriously at CCS and so should you.  Making service learning a part of your learning experience at CCS will help you in your future career. Visit the Center for Service-Learning to learn more.
