Applicants to all academic programs, including the Professional/Technical, College Transfer, and Short-term Certificate programs must show proof of English proficiency when they apply, in order to be admitted into the programs. Some professional/technical and short-term programs have waiting lists, so it is important to apply in advance of the desired quarter.
Applicants With No Proof of English Proficiency
If you do not have the required English proficiency, you will take an English placement test after arriving in Spokane. The results of the placement test will help determine your IELP level.
You can find more information about the IELP program at both our campuses here. A description of the IELP in Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese (traditional), Chinese (simplified), Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese is also available here.
By applying to both the IELP and the college program of your choice, you will be granted admission to the IELP and conditional admission to the college program. Remember, though, some professional/technical programs do have wait lists so admission into those programs will require you to, 1) be admitted to them and 2) for you to have completed required pre-requisites. Specific program placement into the IELP will be determined by taking an English placement test after arriving in Spokane.
TOEFL and IELTS Score Results
Applicants who have taken the TOEFL or IELTS test will need to send CCSofficial score reports with their application to prove English proficiency. Scanned/emailed or faxed copies of official score reports are accepted for initial admission into college programs. However, applicants do need to send us official English proficiency reports.
