Service Learning United Kingdom

The Service Learning England Program is a work-abroad program that allows SFCC and SCC students to participate in a volunteer service learning experience for a six to 12 months in locations throughout the United Kingdom. There are spring and fall placements.  Students also receive credits by taking an online course.

In operation at SFCC since 1983, this program has sent approximately 500 students to the United Kingdom. Placements are made in Scotland, Wales or England, where participants serve the elderly; individuals with physical, mental or learning disabilities; the homeless; or those needing mentoring. Participants are provided with room and board and a small stipend to off-set most of daily living expenses while in program placement.
