Cluster description
These career fields teach students to plan, structure, and control organizations;lead and motivate employees; manage teams; allocate resources; and control quality. Students learn to meet the changing needs of customers, employees and companies – or start their own small business.

Necessary skills

Many careers demand a solid background in math and science, excellent communication skills and a variety of technical skills.  Most community college programs include classroom learning and hands-on, real-world experiences. 

Educational path
Programs generally last two years, at which point students receive an associate's degree.  Some associate degrees transfer to four-year universities.  Some programs offer shorter certificate programs.  Other paths provide skills for entry-level jobs and high-skill careers.  Be sure to work with a counselor to develop your personalized educational plan.
